Updates On GTPay Integration ……June, 2018
we had one of our clients work to handle on how to Integrate Gtpay to their website; we tried integrating GTPay of Guaranty Trust Bank’s payment gateway and we had some little challenges due to some loop-holes in the documentation. After some findings, we finally did the integration successfully and here are a few things to take note of when integrating..
Applying for GTPay
If you (or your client) have not done this already, apply for GTPay at the bank. You will be required to complete the GTPay Application form which you will send along with the Certificate of Incorporation of your business to your Account officer. If your application is approved, you’ll will get a welcome email containing the following:
- Your Interswitch WebPAY Merchant ID
- Your GTPay assigned Merchant ID
- Your GTPay Demo Hash key (This is actually a general key for testing, not ‘YOUR’ hash key)
- An attached document containing test keys and images you’ll replace with yours. You’ll need to submit this for final approval.
- Links to the documentation, HTTP request endpoints and
- A link to a test page where you can see how the gateway works.
How GTpay Integration is Done
One very important information you don’t get is that you have to integrate for testing first and the parameters are a little different. This waste our valuable time.
The step to note is to go for the testing first, you don’t use your GTPay assigned Merchant ID for hashing as your ‘gtpay_mert_id’ parameter and for making transaction requests. We used ‘17’, which was in a code sample in the docs and got it working. The second thing to note is that you make use of different URLs in testing mode. They don’t mention this either.
During testing, you forward transaction requests to “https://gtweb2.gtbank.com/orangelocker/gtpaym/tranx.aspx” and verify your transactions at “https://gtweb2.gtbank.com/GTPayService/gettransactionstatus.json”.
For the live integration, you should use the following URLs:
“https://ibank.gtbank.com/GTPay/Tranx.aspx” for posting transaction requests and “https://ibank.gtbank.com/GTPayService/gettransactionstatus.json” for verifying transactions.
You can follow every other thing in the documentation to get your integration done.
That is all!
